Katrina hummed quietly as she walked to Squad Three to go visit Kira. She walked into the barracks and found him buried up to his shoulders in paperwork… as usual. Just as she was about to turn and leave to let him finish, his head popped up, seeing Katrina turning to leave.

"Oh hey Katrina!" he called, pushing the paperwork aside, as if to hide the large amount from Katrina. "What're you doing here?" he asked her as she turned back into the room. "Not that I mind or anything." He added quickly as Katrina smirked and chuckled.

"I just came to visit you. Is it a bad time? I can always come later." She replied, pointing over her shoulder to the door. Kira shook his head and stood, standing up and going over to Katrina.

"It's okay Kat. I've actually been wanting to talk with you… or actually ask you something." Kira mumbled, sounding uncharacteristically timid and shaky. Obviously intrigued, Katrina looked at him and raised her eyebrow.

"Yeah?" she asked, oblivious to the blush rolling across Kira's face. "What is it?"

"U-uh… Kat…" Kira stammered, eyes looking everywhere but Katrina. He looked like a bright red tomato, eyes wide, voice shaking, this making Katrina all the more curious as to what Kira wanted to ask her. Kira's eyes finally met Katrina's and he pointed at her, blushing an even brighter shade of red. "Willyougotothehumanworldwithmeandspendadaytherewithme?" Kira said too quickly, although Katrina fully understood, her face red now too.

"U-uh… I-I guess… I would… I'd like to." She said with a nod, blinking repeatedly. Don't think much of it Kat! she cried in her head, he probably just wants someone to go with him, like he said. she convinced herself, or at least tried due to thoughts of what could be a date popping into her mind.

"I mean it'll just-"  Kira paused, seeming surprised at her answer, excuses already in his head as to say to convince her to go with him. That awkward silence filled the room and Katrina cleared her throat, shifting her weight awkwardly. "Well okay!" he finally said with a smile, gently grabbing Katrina's hand and pulling her along. "We should go now since I have free time."

"Free time?" Katrina said, sounding surprised, her eyes darting over to the paperwork on his desk. Kira looked at it and shrugged.

"I guess it can wait. There are more important things going on." He said as he tugged Kira along, her looking down at their hands.

After getting their gigais from Urahara, the two began walking around the streets of Karakura, visiting this shop and that shop, getting small nibbles of food here and there. Kira was acting more like a woman then Katrina was, going from shop to shop, pulling out articles of clothing and handing them to Katrina to try on, him doing the same. Some were the most ridiculous clothing ever (which only Kira tried on, Katrina not wanting to bring any attention to herself) and some were not too bad looking, Katrina wanting to buy them. Instead of having her buy them, Kira took them to the counter and paid for her… and did that in multiple stores, one of which included him buying Katrina the brand new Prince of Darkness CD, which made her ecstatic and giddy. When they finally decided to quit shopping, it was dark out and an idea, a fairly good one, popped into Kira's head.

"Hey Kat?" Kira said just as the girl began fawning –for the third or fourth time that day, Kira losing count- over her Prince of Darkness CD. It took her a few moments, but she looked up at Kira, smiling at him.

"Hmm? Oh and thanks for buying me this!" Katrina grinned, thanking Kira once more. The blonde Lieutenant nodded and smiled. "But what is it you wanted Izuru?" she asked.

"I was wondering if you wanted…" Kira got back into that blushing, timid mood once again. "If you would… like to… go… well there was this idea I had… Kat would you like to go to dinner with me?"  Immediately Katrina's face lit up and she nodded, although there was a slight blush. Kira once again took Katrina's hand, as best as he could with all the bags of bought goodies, and pulled her along to the restaurant he had in mind. It was a small one, not very popular, but had great food he hoped Katrina would like. They sat down in a booth, Kira on one side, Katrina on the other. They talked as they ate, Katrina laughing at Kira's attempt at making jokes. The waiter came and asked them what they wanted, them ordering the things that looked the most interesting. As they ate, Katrina talked about the Prince of Darkness CD and the clothes she'd gotten, Kira nodding and smiling, listening to every word. Katrina finished, Kira paying the bill and they'd  up, walking outside and back to Urahara's shop.

"I had a… really, really good time today Izuru." Katrina said, her hand brushing his as they walked. "Thanks… again for buying me everything." She said as Kira smiled and slowly wrapped his arm around her waist, Katrina blushing brightly.

"It was my pleasure Katrina. I'm glad I could make you so happy." He murmured, disappointed to see them getting closer to Urahara's shop. They walked together, silent for the moment before they were standing right before Urahara's door, Kira looking at Katrina, Katrina looking at him. They stood like that for a few moments before Kira dropped the bags and pulled Katrina against him, pressing his lips to hers in a full kiss. Katrina was surprised at first, frozen in place, unmoving before she melted into him, kissing him back, her cheeks warm. She dropped her own bags and wrapped her arms around his neck, shutting her eyes, giving in fully. As if on cue, as if at a planned timing, Urahara threw his door open, fan open, concealing a Cheshire Cat smile.

"Well, well, well, well, well." He cooed, eyes on the two. "What have we here?" he said with an entertained tone in his voice. Kira and Katrina both pulled away, their faces bright red, but not before Urahara snapped a picture of the two. "I'm sure this will come out great!" he said as he slipped back inside, Katrina pressing her hand to her forehead, Kira speechless.

"Well…" Kira looked at her and sighed. "Sorry Kat I didn't…" Katrina searched his face for a moment before she opened her mouth.

"This will bite me in the butt, but that… that was worth it." She said coyly as Kira smiled and pulled her back to him, kissing her once more. Definitely worth it, she thought.
